We yum cha @ Yum Cha

Post-Exam (a very much delayed post) DimSum Buffet at Yumcha

Yum Cha which means 飲茶
which is not literally = lim teh (drink tea)
it just refers to the dining experience of eating small servings of different foods

Guess how I know?
Cos I use Wikipedia ma! I where got so smart... =\

Dimsum Porn!

Mango Prawn Dumpling - I like how the mango and prawn goes together... Too bad it fried... so everybody were like sharing... *health conscious friends i have, hehe.

The Hargow is surprisingly better than what I expected.... fresh prawns and thin skin... BUT the skin tears apart too easily... and This is the STAR of dim sum for me, and it took them soooo long to start serving this... maybe like an hour into the buffet?

Glutinous Rice (Lor Mai Gai)

Phoenix Feet - It just is CHICKEN FEET!

Siew mai took them quite a while to start serving too... and it is again above what I expected... perhaps I came down with a very low expectation after my previous experience.

Fried HarGow

Custard Roll

Fish Fritters

Dumpling with scallop - The scallop is quite big as you can see... but same as the har gow, the skin always tears apart easily

Chilled Chicken
Woots!~ I ate like... hmmmmmmmmmm.... 6 or 7 portions of this? haha. Cos I just came back from the gym, and just nice, free flow of protein for me, so why not? hehe. This chicken is chilled and tender, love it.

Soft Shell crab - more like eating flour rather than crab

Beancurd dumpling

Xiao Long Bao - I like this too. I thought it was pretty good.

Chee Chong Fun - comes in 3 different variety, and we had all 3. Charsiew, Prawn and fish slice (now that's something new)

Yam Puff - The only fried dim sum that im willing to die for, but too bad it wasn't fantastic, and it does taste... hmm.. healthy? Cos it was too dry inside, kind of like eating yam....lol. Peach Garden has nicer ones... will blog about it at a later time!

Guo Tie (Fried Dunpling)

Century Egg Porridge

Dumpling with sharksfin - I don't really rally like to eat sharksfin, because of the cruelty nature of getting the fins. Anyway, this dumpling where got sharksfin lor! that is a good thing actually...

Bamboo shoot + Crab Stick + Chicken - Like this, crunchiness of the bamboo shoot, along with the tenderness of the chicken, and slight tinge of crabby taste

Unknown dumpling

Scallop dumpling

Chicken stuff

Pork Ribs

Dumpling again....

OVERALL -
Each person paid $20 after all the ++
The food is pretty decent
If I take into account the price, and considering that this is a BUFFET, I must say that the food is pretty good for its price
A very wide variety of dishes

I love wu kok (yam puff) too! Not many places serve this nowadays though, those atas dim sum places don't. The best wu kok I've ever eaten was at a coffeeshop dim sum place long long time ago... for the life of me, I can't remember where. :(
