Yes! He did it!

Woke up to the alarm at 5am for my breakfast

Passion Run starts at 8am

After months of training

From someone who can barely run

to someone who completed his first 10k race at the age of 30+

His timing was pretty good - ~ one hour

Paced him for the whole of 10km

He thanked me

I am happy for him

Now he is aiming for half marathon

Everyone can do it

JUST BELIEVE IN YOURSELF

Its a keychain, not a medal! so sadddd

Race Reviews: I thought the race was pretty well organised, except some glitches. The shuttle bus there and back was insufficient to cope with the turn up. And the shuttle bus that takes us back starts at 10am, but at around 9am, many people have already ended their race.

The baggage collection point is pretty well-organised, but I have no idea if there is any problems with the collections and deposit, because I always go for my races empty handed.

Timing is staggered, so there is minimal overcrowding a the starting point. Water points are sufficient, in fact i did not utilise any for the 10km.

The singlet is not very nice imo, the cutting is quite wierd, and the colour is a bit too over-patriotic (RED). The sling bag is not too bad, crumpler look-a-like.

On a side note: My left hamstring is giving me problem throughout the whole race, in fact it was pretty bad. The pain has been there since last thursday after I did my 3 hours race. Hopefully in 6 days time, which is my sundown marathon, I will be fine.

LOL! you fashionista people! gibt free singlet still wana compren. But i agree lah, the passion runs singlets have been quite unflattering! Last one with the weird orange and the oh so wide arm cutting makes the singlet flap! I prefer a narrow cut close to body so that there is less chaffing and sweat can wick away readily.

10K in 1 hour? can lah! last 200m just step on the "gas" and sprint to finish lor. hehe. But its a good achievement considering the incredibly HOT weather the last couple of days!
