Lunch at Golden Mile

The famous Beef Noodle in Golden Mile Food Centre - Kheng Fatt Beef Noodles

The first time i ate here was probably 5 or 6 years ago... i like it then, and today after i tried it after so long, i like it still! The Noodle is soft, the gravy is thick and nice, the beef is still soft, the beef balls is chewy and strong taste of beef, the peanuts sprinkled over the noodle, adds a crunchy feel which eating the noodle.

The Chilli was applaudable, and goes so well with the beef, and you can even eat it with the noodle, not too spicy, but have the taste of shrimp paste. That bowl of soup over there at the left corner is so tasty. Drink it up after finishing the thickly-gravied noodle...wonderful!

Dessert after lunch was Ah Balling

The last time i tried, i tried it with the peanut soup... very traditional. But today when i went there, they already have a new flavour i did not know about it! how ignorant! The whitish soup base is actually almond milk! something new! But i still prefer the hot ginger soup which they also have... and 6 ah ballings costs only $2! and you can choose your own ah ballings... yam... sesame... peanut... red bean... green tea (new flava!) and i had..........

Peanut.... oozzzzed out on my first bite... my favourite!
Sesame... my 2nd fav!

Green Tea - tried this for the first time... the filling is like those u find in greentea mooncakes...
innovative of them, but not to my liking...

Overall.. the ah ballings are nice... nice in the sense tt they fillings are enough, and the skin is chewy... too bad this bowl of 6 was shared! so i only had 3! i want more ah ballings!!!

All the food shown above is located @ Golden Mile Food Centre

Saturday Tea Break

Tried the Sweetstone at GoldenMile. They even have a loyalty card. loL. Just for 2 Belgium waffles and the melted Dark chocolate, it costs $4.20, every additional waffle burns $1.80 to your pocket. As for the waffle, I only like the part where its cripsy, the center part taste kind of like bread, but when dipped into that chocolatey tingy, everything turns good!

QQ Tang Yuan

Peanut Paste with Tang Yuen that is QQ!

Saturday Lunch at Golden Mile

Have u ever seen a money tree?! haha... we were greeted by this money tree... real $$$!

first came water chestnut drink...

Papaya (881) salad, in my previous entry, i tried the mango salad, and i must say i still prefer the mango version. But this time round, i specifically asked for less spicy, even thou usually i can take spicy food... u try and u will know why!
Nest up, was Pandan leave chicken. 1 piece for it is already humogous. The pandan frangrace seep into the tender chicken...
Tom Yam Goong~ lots of seafood, worth it!
Pine apple fried rice in Pineapple! Baby Kailan - the veggies are crunchy~

Seafood Tofu Claypot~

The Thai style lunch ended off well with these colourful dessert called 'Luk Chut'. This jelly-like stuffs are molded to resemble fruits, and they actually taste like "ang ku kueh", just the its jelly on the outside, and the paste inside. Very Appealing to the eyes hor!

Thien Kee Steamboat

I have been mentioning this place to my friends for a very long time...maybe a year? or more? Finally make a trip there! Discover this jewel when my sis brought my family there for dinner..years ago. Now, the New Thien Kee is renovated, so much cooler. But the food is still as good and wonderful and nice and delicious as before!

Thien Kee Steamboat Located at the basement of Golden Mile Tower!
(The crowd speaks for itself on a Monday 8.30pm)

For people looking for contemporary steamboat like Tien Tien, please stay out of this place! This place serves traditional steamboat minus the charcoals. No fanciful dishes, no fanciful dips, just normal chicken rice chilli. Why chicken rice chilli??? u must be wondering... This is because Thien Kee also serves a die-die-also-must try Chicken Rice,  eaten best alongside with the steamboat.

Instead of plain white rice, op for the Chicken rice, its sooo fragrant! The Chicken Meat is so Tender!
And just look at those chickens hanging, sooo FAT!

Here comes the first set!

Total 5 of us! Ordered 3 Large Standard Set (Chicken meat, Fish Balls, Veggies, Liver, Fish Maw, Cockles, Prawns, Eggs etc etc) + 1 plate of Beef + Half a plate of Chicken + 7 bowls
of chicken rice.  Total Damage to our pocket came down to $15 per person only. Nice!

The Chicken, damn nice la. Seems to be in a mess cos already half eaten!

The Aftermath...

The soup gets nicer and sweet towards the end. Look at how barbaric we are! haha... Whole table in a mess! Nobody gives a damn when there yummy food!

4.6 Steamboat/ 5.0 Steamboat

Anyway i am a steamboat lover, so yup... u get my point when i say 4.6? =)

Golden Mile Shopping Center

I swear I will go back to Golden Mile again for the Thai Food! So much better than Simply Thai, Thai Express, on par with Lemon-Grass...but so much cheaper!

hmmm..what do order...

Thai Mango Salad @ $6

A must try! i love this!!! Sweet from mango and Spicy from the Chilli Padi.

4.5 Mangoes out of 5 mangoes!!

Thai Ice Coffee @ $1.50

I was hoping the Ice Coffee taste like the Trung Nguen Coffee back in Vietnam, thou it looks almost the same, with lots of crushed ice... Vietnam Coffee still rocks. Never-e-less...its just coffee.

3 Coffee Beans out of 5 Coffee Beans!

Thai Fried Rice with Pork @ $6

A simple dish but so well-cooked. The Beef is not the soft and tender kind, but it goes well with the fried rice. Everything small little details in the Fried rice just complements each other so perfectly..so good!

4 Rice out of 5 Rice

Tom Yam Soup @ $7

So much Meat! Pork, Liver, Chunks of Tomatoes! The liver is cooked just nice! normally i don't eat liver because of the bloody taste. However, the liver goes so well with the Tom Yam Soup that I almost finish all the liver by myself! Unlike some other Tom Yam Soup that is merely Spicy and Sour, this tomYam Soup brings out the aroma of every spices and garnishes used.

4.5 Lemon grass out of 5 Lemon Grass!
