Doughnut Planet - New York City

This looks as if I went to New York, but nah, this was actually taken in Seoul... We have tried krispy kreme, and Mister doughnuts, so we thought we should try out this doughnut planet as well since it looks much like a doughnut-y place! But

They have lots of interesting flavas, but there is no queue or a big crowd as compard to KK or MD... no because of lousy doughnuts, but i guess it is the price of the doughnuts that puts people off.

Just to name a few, exotic flavours like Strawberry Choco, Mark Creme Brulee, Honey Vanilla, Cinammon Buns, Black Out, Haman Cheese, Vanilla Beans, Vanilla and Banana Cream, Valrhona Chocolate, Tres Leche...

Kept in ovens to keep it warm...

Valrhona Chocolate doughnut, this very chocolate is also the one that is used by Bakerzin for their warm chocolate cake. Imagine that on a doughtnut... yumzzx

and more doughnut porn...

The doughnuts are really pricey, each cost around SGD$3 to $4... so we got a few...

Valrhona Chocolate - The chocolate justifies the doughnut and the price... totally soaked in chocolate, so rich that it feels like you gonna have your throat sored right after eating that!

Honey Vanilla - This combi is just WRONG! when you sink your teeth into this, it feel like you are biting rock sugar, this is just sweet, so sweet that i cannot tell where;s the honey or vanilla.

Black Out - The doughnut dough is premix with chocolate first before being made into a doughnut, hence it is already chocolatey by itself. But more chocolate is coated and sprinkled onto it... and hence the name, blackout.

Banana Pecan Choco - The Pecan definitely make this doughnut gain so points, and the banana adds a nice lingering flavour. The texture is not doughnut at all, it is like a fried chocolate cake, thick and moist within. nice! definitely sinful like siao.

Banana Pecan Cheese - The Pecan help this doughnut to gain so points as well, and it taste pretty similar to the one above but, Who Stole my Cheese? I couldn't smell/taste ant hint of cheese at all, but this is still good stuff. The texture is more of a doughnut (which it should be!) rather than a cake.

Until today, I have been avoiding doughnuts, Donutphobic!

My 3 favourite Thai Food

After collecting my passport last saturday at SIR (which I renewed as I was ALMOST.... so close to being sent to the very North of Mother Earth for a year for work) , this place Golden Mile naturally come to my mind, as this is the place I love to go for nice thai food, but the awful smell of the air sometimes really puts me off.

Usually I will go the Diandin Leluk for my thai fix, but this time round, i just randomly try another stall.

Must-Have Thai Tom Yum Soup with Bee Hoon

Must-Have Mango Salad - usually I don't see whole peanut being added to the salad, this is something special. But the mangoes are abit disappointing as they don't taste mango-ish at all.

Must-Have Dessert - Luk Chut - These are molded to the shapes of miniature fruits, and filled with bean paste. The colours is a turn on for anyone, and nowadays, it is really very difficult to find this outside the perimeter of Golden mile.

Picnic @ Botanic Garden

I have been real busy, busy with workkkk, exercise, friends and family. I have lots of stuffs to blog, but hardly can I find time to do it. Therefore, I tried to restrict myself to just 10 min. Yes, just 10min to upload and type everything that I need to in a blog...

So how did you guys spend your Monday Public Holiday?

Had a picnic at Botanic Garden. From this swan, you can tell that...

We were having our picnic beside the swan lake... adoring the swan under beautiful cloudy sky... The sky was really nice to us.

Food which my gf and I brought... in a Tingkat!

Tada!

Food inspired by Sausage bun which we had in Berlin.

Since everyone was late, and we were the earliest... we made a tomato with egg and grilled cheese bun to fill our pitiful stomach first. This is simple, but good stuff to me.

and soon... everyone arrived. But what is more important is that all the food arrived safely! haha
Just to name a few... Egg Salad, Caesar Salad, Nuggets, Cheese sausages, Ham and cheese/ Tuna / Egg Mayo Sandwiches, Wraps...

The Berlin inspired bun... Rostbratwurst, roast hotdog bun with minced meat sauce. I can see that everyone loves this! =)

Making Mexican Chicken wraps..

Caesar Salad in a cuppa... a spongebob cuppa...

and other than human companions, accompanying us at the picnic are:

Casper

and Pappy!

Have a great week ahead!

So Far Seoul Good Part 8 - Day 4 Dinner

After the last snack on the soft serve ice cream, we went on a shopping spreeee around Myeudeung until hunger calls for us to stop shopping and start hunting for food!

we finally decided unanimously to settle down in this restaurant... that serves many hot plates dishes... and this is what that caught our attention...

Chicken and Seafood hotplate! and it is sooo cheap and it (looks) like a pretty big portion! heh

The Menu

The interior is filled with the smell of the hot plate, but it smells so good!

Our hotplate, uncooked...

turn on the fire!

and you get this!

The seafood is for real! The octopus is a baby octopus but it is quite big!! and it moves as the whole thing simmers in the heat! The factors that gave this dish the plus is the special marination, the generosity in the portion, and the freshness of the ingredients!

Accompanying the hot plates is a salad bar... and what makes this salad bar rocks is the APPLE SALAD SAUCE

The coolness of the apple salad sauce cools down any spiciness and heat of the hotplate.

And a cold soup to go along with the meal. I find this a but eeeky, becauce imagine drinking a chilled soup that is sour with a tinch of spiciness... It's just like Tom Yam Soup in ICE

TADA! All cooked and ready to eat!

and more apple salad!

After the heavy dinner, I was full but still craving for something which has been bugging me for a few days...

Street stall selling Cuttlefish and octopus food items. After choosing what you want, the lady will cook it over the stove and you can instantly smell the fragrant of the cuttlefish!

It was nice and crispy, and after chewing for some time, it turns chewy, i call this sotong chips!

Many locals were seen drinking this particular brand of coffee, so i bought this coffee for the next morning! and yes, it was nice!
