Cereal and Yogurt

Post Cereal and Farmers Union Yogurt
Eating Yogurt after my workout has been almost a daily affair (minus away the weekends). I eat not for its health benefits, but for I really like it! So I calculated... $2 a cup (Pink Yogurt student's cup) for 5 days a week and that comes down to $10 for yogurt a week! Gee... So I decided to save some money by buying my own Yogurt and cereal instead. hehe.

Whole Grains, Pecans, Granolas and a tiny slice of Pineapple. Mashed the whole bowl of stuffs into a mess and let it turn soggy... i like it this way! :) But Pink Yogurt is still nicer leh... This Farmers Union Yogurt taste is too sourish... What can I add to neutralise the over-powering sourish taste?!?

Expiry date is on the 25th! Think I got to eat it like every day liaos... lol.

Yogurt has a lot of health benefits... calcium, good bacteria, source of protein (and some fats of cos)... and i think there is more... i dunno liao... that's all i know!

But why do i choose this instead of other brands... which are Low Fat Yogurt. This is because, other than the fact that I like this for it has a thicker texture (not the thickest thou), Low Fat Yogurt comes at a price... Low Fat = Higher Sugar. Don't Believe? Next time when you make a trip to the market, do make an additional effort to look at the nutritional value =)

Hmm, i prefer to add milk with my cereal. I like banana nut crunch, pecan's nice too. But nowadays i just eat those cereal raw without anything.

Not true, my non-fat natural yogurt has no sugars. I eat my natural yogurt with only a drizzle of honey, so you may wish to add some to your yogurt and cereal combi. Sourish coz most natural yogurts in the market are meant for cooking purposes, like Paul's. Next time when you're at the supermart, try looking for Greek yogurt. Farmers Union has the Greek style natural yogurt. The Sandwich Shop uses this greek style yogurt in their yogurt pots, that's why I love TSS yogurts so much & it is the only one I eat when I'm out.

There's another brand Fage. Try looking out for it. It has Greek yogurt, 0% fat yogurt etc, a whole range to explore. I've blogged about it before too.

Regarding Pink Yogurt... hmm... you've just answered the point why I don't like it. Get it? It's not sugar free, plus all those toppings, it's not really healthy.

ice - your non fat yogurt is what brand arh? and does non-fat means its less thick and creamy? i always have this impression... cos greek yogurt are higher in fats but they are very thick and creamy.

i saw the greek style farmer union, but i chose this instead... next time i will try the greek... cos the one i had is not thick enough!

as for pink yogurt... can choose w/o toppings la... but i always go for nutty buddies! nuts!

Marigold non-fat yogurt. Yes kinda, the non-fat versions always tend to be less creamy but still good with just drizzle of honey & my kinako soy powder. I love soy powder on my yogurt period. Check out my post on that!

Oh yes greek yogurt has higher % of fats but it's healthy fats! I love yogurts... The Fage brand Greek yogurt is darn good too. Heehee but Greek yogurts are more expensive. :)

Marigold non-fat i thought has quite high in sugar?

My post on Marigold is not on the non-fat natural, but rather yogurts that I like and eat & it includes Marigold as an alternative to expensive European brands.

The post on kinako soy powder is another topic. You should really go get one packet of this to try. It tastes just like peanut butter but a whole lot healthier. Now I top my natural yogurt with soy powder. Crazily delicious. Tastes like pb with yogurt. Can you just imagine...

like what ice has mentioned earlier in her comments, i think greek yogurt is one of the creamier and less sourish yogurt. in fact, it tastes like cream. u could give that a try.
