Dian Xiao Er aka 店小二

Oppss... she thought im taking a photo of her... anyway... welcome to "Dian Xiao Er"

The Dian Xiao Er "Secret Manual Menu"

Herbal Roast Duck

The Pride of this restaurant. You can choose from 3 different herbal duck, and this was roasted with "Dang Gui". Not too sure whats the health benefits... but what matters is the duck is good la, which in fact is really good! Normally i will avoid the duck skin, but this time round i gave in to temptation and ate a couple. The skin is thin and very crisp, and the meat is well flavoured with the herbs, a must try dish at this place. The herbal sauce at the bottom is so yummy when drizzled over rice... I will give it a...

"Ma Po Tofu"

It was alright... edible...can do... so so... I should have ordered the "House Special Xiao Er Tofu" - Chef''s recommendation. This Ma po taste just like any out there in Zi Char stall... difference lies in the price only... Ma po... you deserve a...

Fried Rice with Seafood and XO sauce

Usually high end fried rice are those where each grain of rice is wrapped with a layer of egg just like those in Din Tai Fung... but not this one... This plate of fried rice is cooked just the way we do it at home... anyhow anyhow cook... thats the feel i get when i saw it. Its just a plate of mess.. with seafood and beansprouts mixed here and there. But though it doesn't look appealing, i must say that the taste is pretty unique... and every bite has a little crunch from the bean sprout... can try...

Deep Fried Baby Kai Lan with meat floss???

We ordered Baby Kai Lan, but we were served Asparagus instead... or is asparagus in china chinese Baby KaiLan... someone enlighten me pls!! Anyway, instead of asking them why its not baby kailan, we go ahead with this "kailan" since we love asparagus but was not shown in the "Secret Menu" if im right. anyway this is definitely not a healthy dish, because those dark dark greeny seawood that you see in the picture are deep fried till crispy and mixed with chicken floss... well off-track a bit... chicken floss is low in fats for those who doesn't know... same goes to pork floss... yet they are high protein...

Some Sesame Sauce Chicken dish

I was expecting something not sooo deep fried... but ahh..its deep fried. If you like fried stuffs.. probably you will like this... but not me. I tried one, its not bad... its really well fried, very crispy outside and tender inside. Really makes me wonder how they managed to make the skins of the Chicken and Duck so crispy, yet at the same time, keeping the interior tender and succulent. Give is some plus points for the good sauce.

Old Style Steamed Fish Slice

I like Fish + if its steamed, i like it even more... If the sauce is light... i like even more more. Many points to this dish. They are very generous with the amount of fish slices... and each cut is thick and fresh, with the aroma of mushroom soaked into it. Fish lovers... you know what to order when you are here...

Food nice but the portion abit less.Five person with 5 dish total broke S$150++.Especially the herbal duck, just one drumstick+a little extra meat to serv 5 person.
