Lawry's - overhyped?

Lawry's Restaurant, founded by Lawrence L. Frank and Walter Van de Kamp co-founded the original Lawry's The Prime Rib on La Cienega Boulevard in Beverly Hills. Much of the splendor of the meal was in the way each part of the dinner was prepared and presented. Ever the showman, Lawrence designed the famous "silver" carts so the beef could be carved at tableside.
So much for all the "silver" carts, but what matters most is still the food. The presentation of the food was good, ambience was nice, the waitress dressed in very cute "french-maid kinda" uniform, but food-wise.... hurmph...
USA Prime Ribs of Beef: Lawry's cut (285g) . the medium was too bloody, the above was medium-well... still bloody! It wasn't fantastic... it was justttt "can do larh".
Beside it was Idaho Mashed Potato - it was ok.
The bread-looking thing is Yorkshire Pudding - Taste like bread that is cripsy on the outside. it was once again... ok.
The damage was $76.80+++ (unjustified)

Tendoloin Wrapped in bread. The idea of Tendoloin with bread was bad bad bad... the Tendoloin was over-cooked as a result, making it too tough.

Atlantic Lobster tail - cooked in 3 different ways : steamed, herbs and chilli sauce.
This was the best dish out of all, but any seafood restaurant in SG can do better.
Damage: 80+++ (justified)

Spinning Bowl Salad - The word spinning came from the fact that the server actually literaly spins the salad bowl over ice as she makes the salad. The spinning bowl salad taste like ... salad.
KFC salad should be better.

Lawry's no more~

Bunny Bunny... Oh poor bunny~

Nothing special to blog today as I ate Bread with chilli tuna for lunch.. and dinner was home cooked, but i will want to blog something.

U must be thinking why i post up this picture of a rabbit! Isnt this supposed to be a blog on food??? So where's the food? anyway let me introduce this bunny first! His name is benji and hes already 3 years old. Currently staying with my sister. Hes damn fat because he feeds on good food, eat vitamins, have daily servings of fruits and veggies and he snacks too!

But about 6 months ago... i ate his very distant relative. And below is the picture of his distant relative!

Stewed rabbit in Red Wine!
6 months ago, in a far far away place called Ho Chi Minh, I came upon this French Restaurant, sat down, open the menu and i saw the letters in red: Stewed Rabbit in Red Wine. Out of curiosity, I ordered it. The dish came, i ate it... and it was good!!!
The meat was so tender, taste like chicken but much much softer! The meat does not stick to the bones and absorbs the Red wine well. It was my first time eating rabbit's meat and i have to say again... its good!
thats all folks! jus wanna blog something before i knocked out...

Passport expire cannot go bangkok in time... alternative: Thai Embassy!

My family will be going to BKK on the 20th, but I will not be joining them. But why fly all the way to BKK to eat when you can find the real stuff here in Singapore?! The thai festival was held at the Thai Embassy from 30th June to 1st Jul and i was there! Pictures!

Thai Fried Noodles nicely wrapped in eggs, sprinkled with chilli powder and peanut bits
Its was very spicy and very very oily... but the prawns and seafood was generous enough...

Tom Yam Kway Teow (Look at the amount of seafood(high in Protein)!)

Thai "Crepe" - enveloping strands of candy floss with a light taste of peanut butter (This is Good)

Thai Festival may be over, but for those who like Thai food, you can always drop by at Golden Mile complex and have your fill there! Will do a report on Golden Mile Complex soon!

Ajiteh @ Taka

Ajiteh serves very nice japanese desserts. No complains about their desserts, really. Recently went there again and ordered Azuki Matcha Shake (Red Bean Green Tea Shake), but was pretty dissapointed with it. The Red beans was really stingy, the shake was too diluted. Bad Choice! but nevermind....bcos next came something called dango which saves the day!

Heres Dango!
The Green tingy is actually matcha mochi kinda tingy, with red bean paste on top. very chewy and the aroma of the green tea lingers in your mouth (4.5/5)
The yellow tingy is some mochi tingy drizzled with terriyaki-taste sauce... i like it too... it may taste wierd at first... glutinous ball with terriyaki sauce??? but its taste is kinda unique... very jap... very sedap! (4.5/5)
Address of Ajiteh
Located at the basement of Takashimaya, near the food courts

Metabolism

so many people are talking about how slow their metabolism yet they don't even understand how human metabolism works. So before i even go into how to speed yours up so that you can go for more makan guru trip, i want to go over some of the basics.

What is Metabolism?
In simple terms, metabolism is the rate at which ur body burns calories to sustain life. I should also note that your body burns calories 24 hours a day, regardless of whether or not you work out.

What Affects Metabolism?
What do you think is the biggest impact on your metobolism? Activity levels? Thyroids? Age? All Wrong! Its muscle tissues! The more muscle you have the more calories you burn regardless of how active you are.
Here's some factors affecting metabolism:
- muscle tissue
- meal frequency( the longer you go betwee meals, the more your metabolism slows down to conserve energy)
- activity level ( but makes no difference if you do not match your eating to your expenditure)
- food choices
- hydration ( lack of water causes all your systems to slow down)
- genetics
- stress ( stress can slows down metabolism by placing extra stress and strain on numerous systems + people tend to overeat when stressed out.

Solution:
Step 1: - stop the storage of new fats
It doesn't make any sense to start an exerciuse program if you jusr end up adding new fats later that day. The problem is that we don't get fat due to a lack of exercise- we get fat because we supply our body with my calories than it needs at a given time. They key is to supply the body with energy it needs, just that amount and not a bunch extra, because xtra is xtra, it doesn't matter where it comes from. Salad can be stored as fat, celery too! as long as if its extra to your body requiements - it will be stored as fats. So forget about burning those fats unless you can first stop storing new fats.

Step2: - Attack the existing FATs
This requries a conbination approach consisting of stable blood sugar/energy levels, and progressive cardiovascular/aerobic exercise and strength training. Just because you run on the threadmill 30min three times a week, doesn't mean that your body has to burn off that unwanted body fats! You have to force the body to make changes and improvements and the ONLY way is to consistently provide a stimulus that is greaterthan what the body is used to.

In conclusion, I should say that it is extremely important that you have a well thought out and detailed plan to follow. For starters, if you are serious about achieving your goals fast,i would recommend you to get the help of a professional - your chances of success are much greater. It doesn't have to be confusing.
