Brunch @ Hatched - Pancakes Medium Rare

Needed a good breakkie the day before my race. Hatched was chosen considering the location and the interesting name that ties to eggs (im a egg lover fyi!). A Coffee lover as well... Darn! Had a near missed for that nespresso machine during my D&D lucky draw. =(

Eggs Benedict is the default choice for many when it comes to breakfast. Sad to say, I had my first Eggs Benedict in Aussieland, and ever since then, it's not that I want to compare, but but but... humans just love to compare, don't we? We compare houses, cars, husbands, wives, gfs, bfs, bffs, jobs... maybe this is a sweeping statement... oh... so ever since then... i have not found one that is comparable... or come close. The poached eggs are too close tooooo runny, it is supposed to be runny, but not the state of runniness and rawness... wheres the hollandaise sauce?! I like my eggs benedict salty... this is not.

Pancakes was a sobz. I ate a few mouthful and i go "wow!"! They actually have whipped cream inside the pancakes??? I was too naive... haha. only did i later realised that it was not half-cooked. So i asked the staff if this is supposed to be that way ( in a very tactful and friendly manner of course, hehe), but she was very apologetical, and immediately got me a new one... The new plate of hot pipping pancakes arrived! it was cooked, safe for humans to eat... no "whipped cream". I like it thick and fluffy...this should be how pancakes are to be like... not some "hotcakes" that claim to be pancakes. But something is missing, the taste. I missed the pancakes i had in Pancake Parlour... a strong hint of vanilla and milk taste!

anyway, they gave me a 50% off the pancakes out of goodwill... Some people were telling me that they should give the whole meal free, or even the pancakes free, for I have eaten quite a bit of the "whipped cream"

This is the one... The legendary Country Pancakes from Pancake Parlour from somewhere down south... you are deeply missed.

Carbo Loading!!! for Marathon!

Shiokie! The best thing about carbo loading issss... I get to eat lots of carbs!!! not fearing of putting on weight... whahahaa...

Caramelised Bananas on Toast with Peanut Butter and Nutella. I think my banana toast rock any brunch out there... like seriously. don't be deceived by the picture cos i am not a GOOD photographer.

and a can of red bull before the race... Good nutrtion before any marathon is very important to prevent one from "hitting the wall"... never did i feel hungry in any marathons so far... and I only use one energy gel for the entire 42km!
that is not all... pictures from my carbo brunch coming up soooooooooooon!

ngkong Tag Eins - Fast Food of the Oriental - Da Pai Dang

We call this the oriental fast food because instead of serving the usual burgers and french fries in a "fast food style", Da Pai Dang serves local food in a "fast food manner". Food wise is defnitely not the place whereby you can get the best food, but convenience is really neccessary when you are in a place that time is the essence for shopping!!! esp when you have 2 ladies with you...

There are more Dai Pang Dang to come, but I really don't enjoy any of my meals here! -_-
