Training Progress Update

just to update on my training progress.

Weights training are done over the weekends. To my surprise, despite the fact that I head the gym twice a week now, I have managed to regain my strength back! But as compared to last time, I have lost quite a bit of muscle mass, due to lack of protein intake and my reduced in weights training, with a drop of weight from 70 to current 65 (was 62 after my sundown marathon).

I ran thrice last week - Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Distance was between 5 to 6km for these 3 days, but speed was the element! I managed to clocked all in a good 20+minutes. After my morning runs, is followed by a series of body weight exercises to "substitute" my gym workouts. Apparently, this helps. I also ran on the threadmill (on sat) and I did something crazy by running speed 15 - 16 for 20min nons-stop, I guessed I was just a little too high and was of very good form that day, but the whole threadmill is as wet as I am after my run =X

Tomorrow Sunday will be weights training, and will be heading to the pool for an easy swim and to get some sun, cos I haven't been under the sun for quite some time now.

Have a greaaaat weekend!

The Yummiestest Lunch...

Ever since I started working, the most expensive lunch I had during my lunch break is perhaps around $10, but most of the time it is about $3.20, because I always eat the same thing for lunch, and that is Yong Tau Hu with Chee Cheong Fun - healthy and nice and cheap! I really love it that I can eat almost everyday. Those who work around my area might know which stall I'm talking about!

But 50% of the other time, I will be having lunch during meetings (sinful stuffs like burgers), or travel to other parts of Singapore where they don't have my favourite YTH, like today. BUT today is different, because BIG BOSS treats, and BIG BOSS treats nice yummy lunchie!

Nobody (I mean colleagues) knows that I have a fetish of snapping food pictures, and hence, my pictures are kind of candid.

Lunch was at Boon Lay Raja Restaurant!

A non glamourous restarant name, but serve lip-smacking delicious food!

Cold Dish - Huge chunky lobster, Baby octopus, fish fritters and Ngoh Hiang thingy

Fried Rice - This is so much better than the "三鲜“ Fried Rice (3 types of seafood) which i had at crystal jade last week, and which I gave up eating halfway thru.

Sharksfin - I don't eat sharksfin intentionally, because its cruel. But since it is served to me on my bowl already... what can I do?! I must say that it is this type of traditional Chinese restaurant that serves real good sharksfin. I have been to wedding dinners at supposedly posh hotels, but their sharksfin are P.A.T.H.E.T.I.C. This one that I had came in pieces, together with huge chunks of REAL Crab meat from the legs... I had 2.5 bowls, because I was the youngest amongst them, and they say I still need to grow up. haha

Abalone with Kailan - I always thought that abalone is tasteless and rubbery, but wait till you try the ones in Raja... and you will know how abalone should taste like.

Roast Chicken - Tender and Juicy, and I ate most of the chicken breast which is my favourite!

Steamfish - I'm very bad at identifying the type of fish. But whatever it is, I ate just a piece of it, it is nice, but I just don't want to stuff myself silly, as I am already pretty much filled... anyway more than half was left untouched, as most of the ladies are really small eaters, and the guys... only I can eat leh...

Fried Prawns with Wasabi cream - This is somethig very special. The fried prawns are real huge and is totally green (the incredible hulk kind of green). The wasabi is very refreshing, yet it is sweet... a really lovely dish.

Yam Puree with Pumpkin Puree ( Orh nee) - I had a spoon of it, it is really nice. But I cannot eat any further. period.

Everything is really good, and hence, the yummiestest lunch I ever had during my lunch break. But it has its downside, chinese dishes are very high in sodium content, thus leaving me thirsty for the whole day.

...and I have the intention to go back to this place with my family some day.

But yummy lunch don't come cheap, but not at the expense of my pocket thou. =P

Morning Run - 26 Aug

It is 4.45am now, and I have just finished half a PB sandwich and half a cup of milk. 45more min, and I will be off for my 2nd morning run this week. Target: 5km in 23min, followed by followed by circuits at the stadium. Can't wait for my 2nd full breakfast! :D

BBB - Boobs Butt and Bolognaise

A couple of weeks ago, I had my "orientation programme" organised by my coy to immerse (brain wash) me into its culture blablabla... The session was a mix of fun and boredom, and without boredom, how do we know what is fun?

Lunch allowance was provided and since we were around Clark Quay, we decided to go hooters to settle our lunch since there is corporate discount for my coy!

Hooters, a restaurant that theme itself as a place for fun and entertainment. it is famous not for its "Legendary Hooters Chicken Wings", but its legendary Hooters Girls. Dressed in skin tight tank and hot pants, these hooters girls is definitely the draw for the crowds.

Waiting for my lunch, and we waited for damn long...

Soup of the day - Tomato Soup - taste veryy salty and its really really not nice at all...

Spaghetti Bolognaise - A disappointment just like the soup. They are too stingy with the ingredients! There goes my lunch for that day.

Afterall, this is not a place for good food, and everyone knows that.

So Far Seoul Good - The Last Dinner

After the donuts at Planet Donuts, we went for a proper Korean Dinner. We wanted something very authentic and just korean food because this will be our last dinner in Seoul before flying back to Singapore.

The must-haves side dishes in every Korean meal. Preserved cucumbers, Seasoned Octopus ( I ate a lot of this!), Kimchi, Seasonsed Mushrooms and Bean Sprouts.

we share 3 mains... when the mains are ready, i am already quite full, from eating all the sides...

Beef Bulgogi - Unlike the ones I had in SG which is much less soupy, this is a soupy version and i thought it doesn't look as appealing as those sold in SG which are more stew-like. But surprisingly, this one taste much better, and it was the first to be cleared up.

Bibimbap - one cannot miss out bibimbap in Korea. The ingredients for this is more finely cut as compared to the previous one, and hence less crunch to the texture.

Mixed Stew - Stew consisting of different parts of the cow, eeks. With many werid odd shapes thingy floating around in the soup, I did not eat this.

Eventually, everything was cleared except the mix stew

This is a really nice place for nice korean food, highly recommended by me!
