Toasted Bun with Egg and Meat Floss ($2.60)

In Chinese, its called Dan Song Shao Bing. This gotta be my favourite!!! Can some kind soul please tell me if this ting is deep fried, or toasted?

Soya Bean Curd ($1.60)

How can anyone not eat beancurd over here?! I think its better than the one at Selegie, less sweet, with more goodness of soyabean taste!

"Xiao Long Bao" (around $3+)

Although they are known for their Soya Products, This less known XLB is actually very good for the price you are paying...

QQ mian (noodles)

QQ Noodle House

QQ noodle house, as the name suggested, the noodles are QQ. QQ means kinda like chewy, not lumped in a mess. Its usually very crowded on weekdays, but i went on N'day, meaning no need to Q at QQ house!

Whats on their menu?

I ordered "6" - "martell chicken broth"

"Martell Chicken Broth Noodle"

The first sip of the soup has a very rich "Martell taste, but the more you drink, you sort of gets immuned to the martell taste, and eventually your tastebuds just cant taste anymore of the martell. But still, the chicken broth is very rich in flavor. And how can i not to mention, the Noodles are so QQ! Theres also 3 pieces of Chicken along with it and of cos my favourite EGG! But too bad, the egg was looks quite bad on the picture, but an egg still taste like an egg no matter how it looks like larh!

Thumbsup for the Broth and the QQ noodles!

Soya Milk vs Cows' Mlik

Found the 2 healthiest Milk of each category (let me know if there's better choices out there!)
: Cow and Soya! Healthy in the context that it has the highest protein per 100ml, lowest sugar, and low fat, and low in calories.

The winner for Cows' Milk is none other than HL fresh Milk (Plain),

and for the Soya category is the new NutriSoy Omega Soya Milk (No Sugar Added).

HL Milk (Plain)

50 kcal
5g Protein
1g Fat
5.3g Carbs per 100ml

NutriSoy Omega No SugarAdded Soya Milk

39kcal
4g Protein
1.8 Fats
1.8 Carbs

With all these healthier alternatives, sometimes i just wonder how come consumers do not want to switch to these healthier choices rather than those loaded with plenty of fats and sugar? Why not just spend some time and effort to look at the nutritional information before making your purchase. They are there for a reason! But many people still choose based on which taste the best, which one is the cheapest... Price wise its just a few cents more expensive, so it shouldn't be an issue. A simple decision like this will save you from consuming
unecessary fats and sugar, save yourself from running an extra mile, or another 30min in the gym.

SO folks! Not only should you eat responsibly, you should buy responsibly too!
